During the festival week, after darkness has set in, there are mysterious keyholes scurrying in Turku’s cityscape. But what are they up to, and what can you see through them?
The loop contest we organised together with Animaatioklinikka received all in all 34 submissions exploring the theme of the contest, keyhole. These max 10-second animated cocktail bites can be admired on the wall of Turku City Library at Linnankatu at following times:
The cocktail showcasing Finnish, Italian, French, Estonian, Swiss and Moroccan loop art is supplemented by six works of varying themes outside of the contest.
The contest culminates in the finals organized on Friday 26th of August, where the best of the loops compete. The winner, jointly selected by grand jury and audience, will be rewarded with a 300 euro cash prize.
The final battle will take place at Turku Book Café at 9 pm, after which the café’s courtyard is taken over by Delta Space Mission, a Romanian Sci-Fi adventure bursting with synthesizer sounds, and Mihai Mitrica’s DJ-set fitting with the theme.
