About TAFF

Turku Animated Film Festival is an international film festival celebrating creativity and the art of animation.

TAFF is coming up again in August 2023 with a seductive selection of animated shorts! The safety of visitors is our utmost priority and we’re working hard to ensure a safe and comfortable festival visit.

TAFF 2023

The eighth edition of the Turku Animated Film Festival will be held again in Turku, Finland, between 23.- 27. August 2023, presenting dozens of screenings during five days.

TAFF seeks to promote animated film culture both in Finland and internationally. Our aim is to become one of the most important film festivals in Finland and to create a platform for encounters between filmmakers, industry delegates and local lovers of animation. We’re also interested in extending the concept of film screening and bringing together cinema and other forms of creativity as well as entertainment.

The International Competition, which is held again this year, bursts with original, bold, uncompromising and inventive animated shorts under 30 minutes in length. In addition, the festival consists of an alluring selection of carefully selected special programme.

All films that have dialogue in a language other than English are subtitled in English.
