TAFF for professionals
The eighth edition of the Turku Animated Film Festival will be held again in Turku, Finland, in August 2023, presenting dozens of screenings during five days.
All professionals and students in the fields of animation and games can apply for accreditation to the festival.
Accreditation grants the festival pass with discounted price of 25 €.
ABOUT TAFF
Turku Animated Film Festival is an international film festival that celebrates the creative mind and the art of animation.
TAFF seeks to promote animated film culture both in Finland and internationally. We are the biggest animated film festival in Finland, creating a platform for encounters between filmmakers, industry delegates and local lovers of animation. We’re also interested in extending the concept of film screening, bringing together cinema and other forms of creativity as well as entertainment.
The competitions for animated shorts will be held again in 2023. For the International Competition, International Student Film Competition, TAFF Junior Competition and National Competition we are looking for original, bold, uncompromising & inventive animated shorts under 30 minutes to compete for Grand Prix, Best Professional Film, Best Student Film, Tough Eye award, TAFF Junior Award, Main Prize in National Competition and Audience award in International Competition. In addition, the festival programme consists of a seductive selection of carefully selected special programme.
TAFF PRO
TAFF Pro brings together Finnish and international animators. The program consists of keynote speeches, presentations and panels as well as film screenings.
TAFF Pro strives to promote the vitality of the animation field and offers new ideas and contacts to industry players and students.
This year TAFF Pro focuses on games and animation. On Thursday professionals from these two worlds meet to share experiences, listen to talks and explore game demos. On Friday TAFF Pro deepens the theme with future oriented keynotes and discussions. TAFF Pro closes with Games X Animation screening.

TAFF takes place in the hometown of the renowned Turku Arts Academy. Our venue is a beautifully restored old factory milieu by the River Aura in Turku, Finland.
TAFF is organized by the non-profit Association Turun elokuvatapahtumat ry.
