MEET OUR JURY!
We are honored to welcome Pavel Horáček, Michaela Müller and Petrit Gora to this year’s TAFF jury, which will select the winner of our international competition.
Pavel Horáček
Pavel Horáček graduated in Film History and Audiovisual Culture from Masaryk University in Brno, devoting his thesis to means of expression and specific animation techniques, namely in Czech animated films. For three years, he worked as programme director at the AniFest, International Festival of Animated Films in Teplice. Since 2013 Pavel has been working as programme director of Anifilm, International Festival of Animated Films, founded in Trebon, settled now in Liberec city. He is a co-founder and curator of the aniont.com, presenting authorial works of animation online. He prepares programmes of animated films for institutions in the Czech Republic and abroad. Pavel writes about film and animation, and served as a jury member of various international festivals.
Michaela Müller
Michaela Müller is an award winning animation artist known for her striking paint on glass animation technique. Her short animated films Airport (2017) and Miramare (2010) have garnered international acclaim and traveled festivals worldwide, winning multiple awards. Her debut film Miramare premiered at the Cannes Selection Cinéfondation. She holds a Master in Animation and New Media from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of Zagreb and a Diploma for Art Education from the Lucerne University of Applied Science and Arts. Her distinct artistic style blends fluid, hand-painted imagery with evocative storytelling, often exploring themes of movement, migration, and human connection. In addition to her work as a filmmaker, she is also engaging in multimedia performances where she combines dance and live animation to create immersive experiences. Müller will also present a lecture on performative animation, Eliminating the Stop in Stop Motion – Animation in a Live Performance Setting, at this year’s TAFF Pro professional event.
Petrit Gora
Petrit Gora is an artistic director and festival programmer in the animation field. He currently serves as the Artistic Director of the REX Animation Film Festival in Stockholm, one of Sweden’s first festivals dedicated to animated films. From 2016, he has also led the artistic vision for the Anibar Animation Festival in Kosovo, where he started as a volunteer and helped it grow into a major international event and one of the biggest cultural events in the country. Petrit continues to serve as Art Director for both the REX and Anibar festivals.
