Meet our jury for Turku Animated Film Festival 2024!
We proudly present the esteemed members of our jury for Turku Animated Film Festival 2024! All of our jury members have extensive experience in the animation industry. Their professional and critical approach will highlight the most innovative and insightful films in our competition and ensure that the Grand Prix finds the right address again this year.
Katariina Lillqvist is an award-winning Finnish-born director and scriptwriter who lives and works in Czech Republic and also in Sweden. She is the chairperson of film co-operative Camera Cagliostro (FI/CZ) and curator of the Mikulandska Art Recidency in Prague. Lillqvist has been working over 30 years with Czech animation artists, creating 20 stop-motion animations and also documents, radio features and installations.
Lillqvist will hold a lecture at TAFF’s professional program TAFF Pro. There will also be a special screening of her work shown at TAFF.
Pernille Kjaer is a Danish independent animation filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist. Former student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Aarhus, she completed her studies with a BA in character animation from The Animation Workshop in Viborg, Denmark. Her work includes animated films, prints, painting and ceramics.
Still prints of Kjaers works will be shown at TAFF’s exhibition at Galleria Aski in Taiteen talo. What’s more, her most recent film Spring (2023) will be shown at the opening of TAFF.
Slave Lukarov is the vice-president of ASIFA Croatia, founder and artistic director of the International Festival of Animated Film and Comics SUPERTOON; organizer and leader of clubbing events, as well as international animation, visual arts and comics workshops; producer of short animated films, curator of the exhibitions and publisher of comics editions; author of 25 short and animated films and 33 multimedia exhibitions. During all that time he was successfully unemployed.
